Everyone is your prospect , Really ?

Everyone is your prospect , Really ?

If you are in Network Marketing for more than 2-3 months, there is a very high probability that you are told that everybody is a prospect.

So you are told to compile the list of all your family, friends, colleagues, professional friends and then you are advised to contact them.

Now I am not saying this is not an effective method, because some people have built empires using these methods but for some people these methods are not quite effective. They can’t build their empire using these techniques.

But still this thing is propagated that

“Everyone is your prospect. They want it, they just don’t know it yet.”

This insane belief has led to such ridiculous practices as the “3 foot rule” technique.

Because of this lie, people have the mistaken idea that talking to anyone and everyone they come within arms length of is an effective recruiting technique.

Prospecting Tony at Wine shop…employees smoking cigarettes outside office premises…gas station attendants…total strangers at malls… the person sitting next to you in CCD…dropping your business cards on windshields….

These kind of antic tactics have damaged this industry’s reputation almost beyond repair.

They’ve absolutely destroyed any image of professionalism and made it harder for everyone to sponsor people.

It’s absolute idiocy. Don’t buy into this fallacy.

Not everyone is your prospect.

Read this article Sushi and Oatmeal here.

If you don’t get it , just write it down on the sheet of paper, this business is not for everybody.

  • Some people love their job and wouldn’t give it up for a million bucks.
  • Some people despise network marketing and would rather be burned alive than be associated with it.
  • Some people despise business in general.
  • Some people think making lots of money is a bad thing.
  • Some people don’t have the funds to properly run a business.
  • Some people are absolutely scared to death of anything that involves risk.
  • Some people have plenty of money and aren’t looking for anything else.
  • Some people just plain old don’t care. Some people don’t have time. Some people just aren’t
  • cut out to be entrepreneurs and are better off working at McDonald’s.
  • Some people are perfectly content with where they are at in life and have no desire to change. That’s fine.

No one is worth your time until they’ve shown an interest in what you’re offering and have asked you for more information.

It’s not a good use of your time to try and convince someone who disagrees with your way of thinking.

When you market this way, it shows your prospect that you’re the type of business person who isn’t professional (or successful) enough to invest in some respectable marketing methods. It immediately projects a “cheap image”.

Why do that when there are millions of people who actually do want to start their own business? The ones who warrant your attention are the ones who take the initiative and go out of there way to find out how to do it. These people are prospects.

Another problem with this mentality is, if everyone’s a prospect that means you have to constantly be “on the prowl.”

Anytime you first meet somebody, you’re always looking for that opportunity to bring up for your business.

Wouldn’t it be nice to not have to worry about that? To hold a conversation without thinking of ways to recruit them in the back of your mind? Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to separate your personal life from your business life?

So why expend valuable time and energy trying to force-feed your opportunity down the throat of someone who’s entirely indifferent?

Why do that when there are millions of people who actually do want to start their own business? The ones who warrant your attention are the ones who take the initiative and go out of there way to find out how to do it. These people are prospects.

I am going to show you the system which will help you create the pipeline of prospects without having to go through the countless rejections…It’s a proven system, but before you go read prequel of this article here

What to do if your upline quits ?

What to do if your upline quits ?

Even if you are a complete newbie or you are veteran to this industry, at some point in time your direct upline or upline leader may quit. For the veteran players, presence of upline doesn’t matter much but if you are new to this industry or you are dependable on your upline , this will matter to you very much.

In my career in Network Marketing, I have seen a lot of people quit including the leaders who were actually making the big money leaving their whole downline in lurch. I have seen many newbies quit after some rejection but that’s common but what to do if your upline quits and you are a complete newbie and you want to build the business….What to do then ?

I hope you are not a quitter like 98% people in this industry but how to get support from your upline.

So why upline or anybody quits ? I have written an extensive post over that issue read it here.

What steps you should take if your upline quits ?

Whenever you come into the business, make sure you get chance to meet upline of your direct upline and all other senior upline members who are getting financial benefits from you and willing to work with you and most importantly willing to help you. Get to know them. Talk to them. This step is very important as it will give you chance to interact with them and in the future , you can talk to them for the support.

Now if many people in your upline quit, your grand upline may be a very busy person, if he/she has time to work with you one on one then it’s very goo but if that’s not the case then you have to meet him/her whenever he/she is in town, remain in touch with him/her on his/her BBM or Whatsapp, don’t bug them every now and then, make their time worthwhile, learn from them and learn to show the plan effectively and then start inviting prospects and building your business. You can take help of your upline leader in 3 way calls and closing.

Make sure you attend all the trainings and events and meet all senior upline members and establish connection with them.

Inherent flaws of Network Marketers

Inherent flaws of Network Marketers

There is inherent flaw present in almost all Network Marketer’s mind and that flaw is ultimately responsible for failure of that person.

The flaw comes from the fact that ” get rich quick ” mentality. Most people come to this industry because they see this industry as an option for making easy money. This flaw is not in the model “Network Marketing ” but it’s  in the mentality of people.

People come to this industry under the assumption that

” You become the part of the system, you bring two people , they bring two people, those two bring another two, those two bring more two and eventually you become rich. “

And when most people fall for this trap, they can’t see the real work and when their expectations are not fulfilled, they quit the business.”

The mentality is to “Get Someone” approach, getting someone to buy your product, getting someone to sign up with you, getting someone to do something….This mentality is the root cause of failure.

In this information age, people are very resistant to Marketing (especially interruption marketing) and you can read this book ” Permission Marketing ” by Seth Godin to get hold on this new concept. The period of big advertisements are over, now buzzword is “Word of Mouth” make sure, you make proper use of it to spread the business.

The biggest mistake made in sponsoring

The biggest mistake made in sponsoring

Learning how to close is more important than prospecting because fear of future holds many people back while prospecting. The biggest mistake made while sponsoring is not learning how to close someone before you actually prospect them, but if they understand closing the path becomes very less resistant.

There are a few methods of closing but there are more effective methods which can be used while closing to get more powerful results. This method is called ” Test Closing” It’s the method where you get real commitment from prospects. Asking questions like

  1. What’s the most important reason to get involved in the business ?

  2. Apart from money, what is the main reason you see yourself doing it ?

  3. Why you are open to look at home based business ?

If you don’t ask such questions, the prospect has no reason to sign up with you. Nobody is interested in your compensation plan, products, people are interested in themselves, if somebody is not watching your presentation or not coming to see what you have to offer, because he/she saw you as a Salesperson. Don’t beat your prospects with your products/services. Check whether they are open, collect the decision and move on.

Why your prospects are running for the hills ?

Why your prospects are running for the hills ?

If you are into Network Marketing industry for long, you should probably know that why your prospects are running for the hills, what you are doing wrong ? Where you are lacking ?

If you don’t know till now, you should probably read this post.

Has this ever happened to you ? You are talking to the prospect and he doesn’t really get it, whatever you are saying is falling on deaf ears. If this thing is happening to you over and over again , then you are doing something wrong.

I know many people who always lead with hype, they always make tall claims and because they lie and cheat, Network Marketing industry got very bad name and reputation because of them.

When someone new comes to this industry, make him comfortable. Don’t promise him/her bazillion dollars instead teach them how to make extra $2-3 k/month. People are always looking to make mega bucks but everything happens step by step. You can’t promise someone to make $50k/month from next month if he/she is currently making $2k/month. It’s beyond their scope of reality.

If you are giving big promises to new people joining, you are not actually attracting them but you are actually scaring them away.

Don’t promise new people a Ferrari, mansion, first tell them how to talk about your business, how to approach people.

Because if you tell people something outside their scope of reality, they put their guards up and run for the shelter. Be real while you promote your business.

The key is to be grounded in your approach. Train your newly signed up people properly.
