Attending meetups regularly will help you to expand your list on ongoing basis so you can find potential prospects there.
Meetup is the most underutilized tool where prospecting is concerned.
There are a few rules to remember when you attend events and make contacts
- Establish rapport and build relationships first.
- Schedule lunch or coffee with those you think might be good prospects. Don’t get into pitching temptation.
- At your personal meet up, just get to know them. You do not want to introduce your business here, unless it happens naturally in the conversation. You are just meeting to get to know each other.
When you become a regular at these events, and people begin to know, like and trust you, it’s easier to strike a conversation about what you do and who you are looking for.
